British-Indian peace activist Vijay Mehta will speak on „From a Culture of War to a Culture of Peace – What can I do to end war and create world peace“. Vijay Mehta is an author and peace activist (Uniting for Peace – Uniting to bring about global peace). He feels that there is a need to institutionalise peace work and provide public funds for peace work. He proposes the establishment of peace ministries in all governments of the world and the establishment of peace centres in every city and town. As peace activists in Ghana and from the PeaceFactory Wanfried, we want to learn from Vijay’s decades of experience how we can contribute to creating a world without war. On paper, the states decided this in the UN Charter in 1945; in reality, more than 400 million children live in areas of war and tension and there is the real danger of a global nuclear confrontation between the great powers that can drag humanity into the abyss.
