In (international) teamwork lies the chance for us „common people“ to ensure our survival. The Black&White initiative and the Wanfried Peace Factory have created a platform for this purpose, to built it up step by step „from below“
Nobel Peace Prize winner Willy Brandt warned in his North-South report 40 years ago: „Without justice in North-South relations, peace cannot be secured and humanity will not be able to survive. The arms race would waste public funds that could be used to create decent living conditions worldwide.
Today’s policy makers are currently wasting far more resources on rearmament than in Brandt’s time: Currently two trillion dollars per year. Even greater rearmament is planned. And violent conflicts are on the increase.
His admonition has not gone down well in politics. Business leaders and politicians are driven by short-term interests: The banker and manager must present good profit figures at the next annual press conference in order to get further access to the investment funds of the wealthy. They operate worldwide and look for the most profitable investment opportunities.
Politicians want to offer tax revenues and jobs in order to be re-elected: They seek to offer the best possible opportunities for investment in order to attract as much capital as possible from the wealthy to their country. The politicians of the different nation states but also regions compete with each other to organise the highest possible profitability for investors. The militarily strong states also use force in this struggle.
In this double economic-political competition, the interests of the „not wealthy“ are lost, even though the „people who want peace, who want to protect the environment, who want to create social security for all, are lost: even though they are the vast majority.
If we remain only a recipient of instructions, a supporter, an employee of these competing economic and political forces, we have no chance of turning the tide. An independent and common organisation is needed to achieve the goals which the states set themselves in 1945 in the UN Charter and in 1948 in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: Building a common world to prevent dangerous competition between nation states and companies at the expense of the people; it had led to world economic crisis, dictatorship and world war.
How can we, as the majority, bring our interests to bear to ensure good survival worldwide for all? We invite everyone who wants to find answers to these questions to join us in our new social network: Register, read, comment, post, discuss, network in teams. Here in the country and – if possible – internationally.
Here is the social network for people of all skin colours and religions, nationalities and ethnicities, symbolised by „Black&White“.
